My first journal, wow. I should celebrate, but instead Im kinda wishing we had a 'Saldy' mood icon here. See, many years ago I used to write fanfics. I used to do them quite well, if I might say so myself. I had my friend here, Blues32, by my side and I chocked out many a joke. Problem is three things.

1) I stored them on a ZIP disk. Anyone familiar with those? Theyre notorious for breaking down. Now Im not entirely sure if these discs are broken or not, I moved out of state and dont have them on me. They are, however, reachable. I know exactly where they are and everything. BUT, the ZIP drive we had is busted. There was another one but my family isnt aware if it works or not and isnt too thrilled with the concept of finding out. Ive looked into buying a new one but apparently since the technology died a horrible death theyre crazy expensive.
2) I originally uploaded them to an internet forum. They were written to be a comic on a website. The forum crashed many years ago but is back. I went and tried a search for it, funny how I can pull up all my old posts but the stories. I posted on there asking if they can help me, but the thing has been kinda dead for a year now. Its at least two weeks now and the thread hasnt even gotten one view. I used Wayback Machine and found one of them, I think. Problem is the page wasn't archived. There goes that idea. In case you were wondering about the actual site that this forum branched off of, its completely dead. Its funny because since it came back they have a fanfic section and Im kind of wondering why mine isnt there. Im really hoping someone saved the three of them to their computer and can give them back.
3) Im in college now, I barely have time to breathe so I surely havent the time to rewrite them.

I have one more idea and that was to actually attempt to contact the webmaster of said site in #2. I gave him the first of three stories so, saying he answers, he might be a good lead. Trick will be getting his information and hoping it isnt outdated. Remember, site has been dead for a year.

So this is the situation. Ive been after these stories for years, and theyd be more than likely immediately posted on here if and when I get them back. Anyone have any ideas?
